Reaching Out To Troops In Iraq
Reaching Out To Troops In Iraq
To the Editor:
The VFW Post 308 Ladies Auxiliary in Newtown is a group of dedicated sisters whose goals are centered around (just to mention a few) support of our fellow sisters around the country, veteran affairs, community, and support of our troops. One of the ways we show our support to the troops is to send phone cards through âOperation Uplinkâ every month. We also send packages overseas.
We do this because we care about our fellow men and women and would like them to know we care and support them. Although the list of names is long, we have noticed that some of the people on the list for packages have already come home (Thank God).
We would now like to ask the community, if they have a family member or friend serving in Iraq, to send us their name and address and perhaps provide information of what is most needed or enjoyed by them at this time, so many miles from home. Please mail this information to: VFW Post 308 Ladies Auxiliary, 18 Tinkerfield Road, Newtown CT 06470.
Sincerely,
Janice Moran, Chaplain
