String Quartet To Play Pomperaug Woods

SOUTHBURY — The Niles String Quartet will be performing at Pomperaug Woods on Thursday, March 18, at 7 pm, in Wilson Hall Auditorium. The concert is free to the public. Seating is limited and a reservation is recommended.

The quartet is the graduate ensemble in residence at the University of Kentucky. Its members hold degrees from Idlywild Arts Academy, Manhattan School of Music, Oberlin College, Kent State University, and Yale University.

The quartet is also sponsored in part by the Lexington Philharmonic. The quartet performs frequently in the Lexington area as well as other cities throughout the United States.

Members are violinists Hristo Popov and Eun-Young Chang, violist Modesto Marcano, and cellist Yoonie Choi.

Joseph Haydn’s String Quartet in E-flat Major and Maurice Ravel’s String Quartet in F Major are on the evening’s program.
