Chien Fei Chiang will demonstrate painting in watercolor, through eastern and western eyes, at the next Society of Creative Arts of Newtown afternoon meeting on Wednesday, March 22, at 1:30 pm. The program is open to the public, free of charge, and will be at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street in Newtown (at the flagpole).

Chien Fei Chiang is a third generation artist, born in Kiangsi, China. He has a unique approach to painting that meshes the styles of Eastern and Western art forms. There is a great delicacy in his brush strokes which brings harmony to his realistic art works.

He began his career in art at the age of 12 while living in China, where he studied at the Chen-Tse Fine Art Institute and the Canton Fine Art Institute. He received a BA degree from the Taiwan Normal University and taught at the Taichung Normal Institute as well as the Taiwan Normal University.

Mr Chiang now resides in Meriden and teaches at the Lyme Academy of Fine Art.

His works have been exhibited over a wide area of states along the eastern coast of the US and also in Taiwan. His awards are many and he is listed in Who’s Who in American Art. He is a member of many art organizations.
