Elder Law Expert To Speak At Free Seminar

Planning for retirement, whether to buy long-term care insurance, and how to protect one’s assets are questions that eventually come up for most seniors. During an informational seminar on Wednesday, March 22, Barbara Reynolds, a certified Elder Law attorney, will address these and other typical questions. The seminar will be held at Lockwood Lodge at Ashlar of Newtown from 7 to 8:30 pm.

Ms Reynolds is a partner with the firm of Cramer & Anderson, LLP in Danbury and New Milford. As part of the Estate Planning, Trusts and Estate Administration Department of the Connecticut State Courts, she addresses families’ concerns regarding the needs of their senior members. Among her many duties, she advises clients in planning for long-term care, asset protection, and estate administration.

Ms Reynolds has a law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law, a CAS in education al Administration from Fairfield University, and a master’s degree in English from New York University. She is a member of the Elder Law and Estate and Probate Sections of the Connecticut Bar Association, a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and is justice of the peace for the town of Warren. Ms Reynolds is director of The Children’s Center, New Milford, and a member of the Annual Giving Fund Committee for the New Milford Hospital Foundation. She has also published several articles concerning elder law.

The seminar is free and private consultations at no charge will be available to attendees. Lockwood Lodge, an assisted living residence on the campus of Ashlar of Newtown, is located at 139 Toddy Hill Road. Seating is limited; for reservations, call Ginny Carroll at 364-3179.
