Regional Women’s Business Expo Set For June 11–13

Networking in pajamas with corporate vice presidents, learning how to succeed in a “man’s business world,” and developing better meeting etiquette on the golf course are just a few of the innovative sessions planned at a first of its kind regional women’s business exposition at Mohegan Sun Casino this spring.

The 2007 Women’s Business Conference and Expo, “Business & You” is among the largest events of its kind in the northeast for women. The conference is scheduled for June 11–13 at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville.

The conference invites women to support, participate, engage, share, get involved, and provide commitment to the growth and success of women in business.

The event openly welcomes all women of different cultures, of different ages, of different ethnic backgrounds, of different religions, and different levels of financial status to interact on the common platform of business.

Attendees represent businesswomen from corporate leadership, entrepreneurial pursuits, and small business, who are looking to move to the next level of business and personal growth. Attendees are expected from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, and some from other parts of the United States.

In addition to the general sessions, keynote speakers, and networking events, some of the other special events at the conference will include Breakfast with a Purpose, a one-on-one session during which a proposal (RFQ or RFP) or presentation will be critiqued by an experienced professional with tips on how to better target the message to get the business.

There will be a talk entitled, “What Every Man Wants a Business Women to Know.” In this session, a panel of men share information on how women can get ahead in the business world, as well as panel discussions featuring key women business leaders, even a pajama party for up to 300 participants.

There will be unique and informative workshops on “How to Conduct Business On the Golf Course,” a talk on “Business Etiquette,” and advice on “Recognition, Branding Your Business.”

Other sessions on security, technology, planning, and finance will be featured along with a workshop titled, “Get the Right-Size Bra,” which will include a custom fitting for interested attendees.

The 2007 Women’s Business Conference and Expo will open the Exhibit Hall on Tuesday, June 12, with a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Connecticut Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz at 1:15 pm. Anyone interested in having their business, product, or service seen by potentially thousands of visitors including resort guests may want to consider being among the 100 booths exhibitors. Display opportunities for the Expo are available on a first-come basis.
