Connecticut State Police, Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue, and Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps all responded to the area of I-84 West near the Exit 11 off-ramp around 8:30 am Tuesday, March 10 after a passenger vehicle crashed into the rear of a car carrier. The driver of the car was transported to the hospital; the driver and a passenger in the truck were reportedly uninjured. The crash closed the high-speed lane and shoulder of the highway for approximately one hour. Additional details were not available as this week’s paper went to press. —Bee Photo, Hicks
