Call For Entries Issued: 42nd Discovery

Museum Juried Art Exhibition

BRIDGEPORT — A call for entries has been issued for the 42nd Annual Discovery Museum Juried Art Exhibition, which is open at artists age 18 years old and over living or working in New England. Deadline for submitting entries is Friday, May 19.

The Discovery Museum Juried Art Exhibition will open on Sunday, June 18, with a reception honoring artists as part of the annual Barnum Festival. The exhibit will then continue through Friday, July 7.

Awards will be given for best painting in oil/acrylic, painting/drawing on paper, mixed media, sculpture and photograph. A $300 cash prize is also awarded to the winning artist in each category.

Jurors for this year’s exhibition are Howardena Pindel, an artist and professor of art at the University of New York at Stony Brook, and Jock Reynolds, the Henry J. Heinz II director of Yale University Art Gallery.
