With The Parent Connection

Parent Connection, a grassroots citizen network addressing the problem of substance use and abuse in the Newtown community, hosts its next forum, “Prescription Medication Or Drug of Abuse?” Wednesday, March 24, at Newtown Middle School from 7 to 9 pm.

Facilitated by neurologist and pain specialists Dr Sherry Siegel and Clay Yeager, the forum will also feature Newtown Drug Center pharmacist Richard Gubbiotti, MS.

The discussion will help participants better understand the labels of over-the-counter (OTC) medications, address the “more is better” dosage myth and elucidate the potential effects of cold medication such as Robitussin, Coricidin, and Sudafed. Attendees will also learn about the effectiveness of drug testing kits and find out what to ask their doctors to better understand the effects of their medications.
