A Simple Solution

To The Editor:

There is a simple solution to the current upzoning proposal. Leave the existing lots and subdivisions as is. Make all new subdivisions have three-acre lots. This should have been done years ago.

The zoning board needs to stop catering to the real estate people and developers and come up with a plan for balanced zoning. This will give Newtown more business and less housing.

The current proposal is just to please the wealthy and keep the rest out, and to drive the existing lower income residents out of Newtown.
