Carolyn Staples, 83, formerly of Sandy Hook, died March 18. Born March 28, 1916 in Stamford, she was the wife of the late Frederick Staples and mother of the late Nan Galati.
She is survived by three daughters, Candace Morris of Brookfield, Alice McGovern of Bennington, Vt., and Faith Selmer of Stamford; one son, Donald Staples of Southbury; a sister, Mildred Frost of Carmel, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and the Order of the Vassar Star. She was awarded the Guggenheim Medal through the Mt Sinai Hospital. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of oneâs choice.
