Swim Coaches Say Thanks

To Newtown Torpedoes Swimmers and Families,

We would like to thank all of the swimmers and their families for their incredible support and dedication to the Newtown Torpedoes this year. The swim season demands a great deal of commitment not only from the swimmers but from their parents. As the coaches, we feel it was your efforts that made it a successful, enjoyable season for everyone.

We would like to first thank all of the parents who timed for us at meets, all those who contributed their time and items for our concessions, and all of the friends and families of swimmers who came to cheer us on.

We would like to thank Mary Beth and Joe Hemingway for organizing and running our concessions at home meets, Susan Schunter, Tracey Fiore, and Mary Beth Hemingway for officiating, and Jessica Adams for running the electronic timing system.

In addition, we’d like to thank Mary Pat Frobey for taking bathing suit orders and for scorekeeping along with Rich Harmonay. We’d also like to thank Charlie and Kathy Robinson for their concession help and for running the 50/50 raffles, and Joan Conlon who arranged our banquet so we could celebrate another great season!

Last but not least, we’d like to thank Barbara Kasbarian, Deborah, and Barbara Lyn at the Parks and Recreation Department, who have supported us 100 percent since we began last year.

We couldn’t possibly thank you all enough for your help, enthusiasm, and generosity. It was you, along with 96 very special swimmers, that made our season so memorable. We look forward to seeing you all again next year.
