MIKE AND LUCINDA SEWARD of Pittsford, Vt., met at an Antique Show of course. She as a shopper and he as a seller. Mike is a native Vermonter and has had a number of shops through the years in the Rutland area. Over the last 25 years in the business he has fine tuned his knowledge not only by utilizing his vast library but also by handling a large variety of items doing appraisals and with merchandise garnered on “house calls.”

Lucinda was a painter who enjoyed going to Brimfield to gather props for her paintings and also collected a large number of antique quilts along the way. When the props and the quilts were getting piled too high something needed to be done. She set up at Brimfield for her first show as a dealer and things progressed from there.

Over the following months they kept bumping into each other around the New England circuit and friendship lead to romance. Since marrying in 1997 they have combined forces. They deal in a variety of American antiques with an emphasis on folk art and Americana and have a busy show schedule mostly sticking close to New England. The Sewards’ motto is, “Keep it fresh, keep it buyable.”
