SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. â Altermann Galleriesâ March 3 auction and set price sale realized $1,008,160. The top selling lot was a 22-by-30-inch oil by Olaf Wieghorst, âAmerican Nomads,â ($45/60,000) that brought $66,000. Six Wieghorst works in various mediums were offered, and all sold for a total of $157,080.
David Mannâs 43-by-36-inch oil, âAmong the Enemy,â was an auction highlight, almost doubling its presale estimate ($18/21,000) by ending up at $38,400.
In the set price portion, the top selling lot was Elias Riveraâs âOutdoor Laundryâ that brought $45,000.
âFor this auction, we focus on low- to mid-price works of art,â said Tony Altermann. âWe are trying to match the market to our clients who are wintering in Arizona. This is the third time weâve held this March event, and this was the first time we exceeded $1,000,000 in sales.â
