Acrylic Landscape By James Grabowski
At Next SCAN Meeting
The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will have James Grabowski painting an acrylic landscape at its next meeting on Wednesday, March 28, at 1:30 pm.
The demonstration-program will take place in the lower meeting room of Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street. The public is invited to attend. Admission is free.
Mr Grabowski speaks of his work as âoptimistic celebrations of color.â Although known primarily as a painter of expansive, canvases filled with bold color and motion, Mr Grabowskiâs more recent work also includes impressionistic landscape paintings that are more quiet, often inspired by the Connecticut countryside around his home in Marlborough.
Mr Grabowski received his bachelorâs and masterâs degrees from Central Connecticut State University. For the last twenty years he has worked full time at his art, and in recent years he has received commissions for his paintings and collages from more than 100 major corporations, among them Pratt & Whitney, General Electric, IBM, Aetna Life and Casualty, and Southern New England Telephone. His work also has been sought by non-profit organizations such as Connecticut Public Television and New Haven Symphony Orchestra.
He has won over 200 prizes and first place awards with his flair for the dynamic, and presently serves on the Connecticut Commission on the Arts.
