*JOHN VOKET, who gives us not one but two inside looks at live music in Connecticut in this weekâs Enjoy section, returns to Proud Maryâs for his latest live show on Saturday night. John will be joined by guitarist Brendan Walsh for at least part of that show, which starts at 8:30 and will run for about three hours.
*Reggae singer-toaster MYSTIC BOWIE will liven up the last weekend in March with two shows in southern Connecticut. Mystic Bowie and Friends will perform at Baxterâs at The Bitter End on Friday the 30th and then at Martiniâs Café on Saturday the 31st. Showtime both evenings is 9:30 pm. Baxterâs is at 2770 Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport telephone 203-335-2395) and Martiniâs is at 350 Boston Post Road in Orange (203-795-0561). Bowie was recently signed to the Tuff Gong label and is touring in support of his new single, âMama.â
*Following a sold-out show last fall, GODSMACK will return to rock Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday, May 20, at 7 pm. Tickets for that show will be $35 each and are going on sale Saturday morning at 10 through TicketMaster vendors. Anyone whoâs in the neighborhood can also visit the box office at the casino beginning Sunday, subject to availability.
Also at Mohegan Sun on Saturday at 10, tickets will be going on sale for BRAD PAISLEY, who will be joined by special guests Taylor Swift, Jack Ingram and Kellie Pickler, who will play the arena on Friday, August 3. Those tickets will be selling for $35 and $50.
*ROGER WATERS will bring his Dark Side of The Moon Tour to Dodge Music Center on Tuesday, July 10, and those tickets are also going on sale this weekend. Priced at $29.50 for open lawn seats, and $85 and $150 for the reserved pavilion seats, these tickets will be available as of 10 am Friday morning through LiveNation.com, TicketMaster outlets, and the box office at the Chevy Theatre in Wallingford. The Dodge Music Centerâs box office has not yet opened for the season.
Also going on sale this weekend â Saturday morning at 10 â will be tickets for the next homecoming of Grammy-winner (again) JOHN MAYER, who will play Dodge Music Center on Saturday, July 14. Special guests will be Ben Folds and Brett Dennen. Tickets are $29.0 for the lawn and $53.50 for reserved, and will also be available through the venues outlined above.
