SCAN Seeking Artists

For Juried April Show

Regional artists are invited to exhibit, offer for sale, and win awards for their original paintings during 37th Annual Spring Juried Art Show presented by The Society of Creative Arts in Newtown (SCAN).

Receiving is set for Wednesday, April 4, from 3 to 7 pm, in the lower meeting room of C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street.

The show jurors — Abe Echevarria, Paul McCormack, and Peter Seltzer — will accept as many as 150 original works of fine art and sculpture. Each artist may enter up to two pieces.

SCAN, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting fine art in western Connecticut, offers substantial cash and merchandise awards at this show. Entry fees are $15 for members and $20 for non-members for the first piece or art; $5 for any artist’s second piece. SCAN receives a donation of 20 percent of the price of works sold but artwork need not be offered for sale.

The show will run Saturday, April 7, through Sunday, April 15, during normal library hours (the library will be closed Sunday, April 8). A reception and awards presentation will take place April 15, 2 to 4 pm.

For more information, call Anita Gregorski at 203-758-9166 or for an entry form visit SCANart.org.
