How To Stay
In The Game
TRUMBULL â St Vincentâs Medical Center is sponsoring a free talk open to the general public on âSports Injuries: How to Stay in the Gameâ as part of its Listen & Learn Lecture Series for Baby Boomers. The talk will take place Tuesday, April 3, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm, at the Trumbull Marriott.
Featured speaker, Patrick Kwok, MD, will focus on the latest advances in minimally invasive orthopedic surgery and the rehabilitation services Bridgeport-based St Vincentâs offers for common sports injuries, such as torn rotator cuffs, herniated disks, fractures, dislocations and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears. Dr Kwok will explain how patients can stay active and get back in the game after an injury.
Many sports related injuries are treatable with outpatient therapy and medical management by the orthopedic physician.
Dr Kwok serves on active staff at St Vincentâs Medical Center and operates Orthopaedic Specialty Group, a private practice with offices in Fairfield, Shelton, and Stratford. He graduated from Princeton University and earned a doctorate of medicine from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1996.
He then went on to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, an affiliate of St Vincentâs Medical Center.
A question and answer session will follow his presentation and light refreshments will be provided.
