DANBURY — A panel discussion, “Threads of Hope Around the World,” will be held at Western CT State University’s Warner Hall on Tuesday, March 27, beginning at 3:30 pm.

Part of the university’s Women’s History Month celebration, the discussion will center on political statements made through fabric art. The program will be led by Assistant Professor of World Languages and Literature Dr Alba Skar and noted area quilter Marty Bishop. Dr Skar will discuss Chilean Arpilleras, and Ms Bishop will examine the quilts of Tasmania and Changi, Singapore.

The discussion will be followed by a reception at 5 pm, also in Warner Hall. The hall is on the university’s midtown campus, at the corner of White Street and Fifth Avenue. Admission is free.
