An Easter Invitation
An Easter Invitation
To the Editor:
I am a resident of Newtown now for five years. I love this area and the beautiful churches that adorn Newtown and the great faith of those attending these churches. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Many of you might know us by the nickname of âMormonâ as we believe in the Bible and The Book Of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is an additional witness of Jesus Christ, but on the American Continent, and is a companion to the Bible. It is called that because of the man named Mormon who compiled the various books found therein.
Many of the different faiths in the area have worked together all over the world to provide relief to those afflicted with tragedies and to protect the sanctity of marriage, so there is much we have in common. I am grateful for the service that our different faiths offer to provide relief to those in need. We have many friends who wonder what we believe in, and many out there who know us only by the myths and misinformation from people who are not of our faith and donât fully understand our religion.
I want to invite those who would like to celebrate Easter with us and to better understand our faith, this Sunday. Our service is held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, at 16 Sawmill Road, Newtown. It starts at 2 and ends at 3:30 pm. We will have music and some beautiful talks on Jesus Christ, and his resurrection. This invitation is for all who would like to join us to celebrate Jesus Christ and the faith we all have in him. Feel free to come, we would love to have you.
