Get Well Soon, Renee!
To The Editor:
I want to take a moment to recognize our Town Clerk, Renee Weimann, and to wish her a full and speedy recovery following her recent, and very serious, car accident.
Renee has been doing an exceptional job serving the people of Newtown as our Town Clerk. But what stands out most to me is her unwavering commitment to our veterans. That commitment is real, and it is personal. She does not just treat it as part of the job. She treats it as a responsibility she carries with pride.
As a veteran, that means a tremendous amount to me. Having Renee as our Town Clerk gives me confidence that the men and women who have served our country have a true advocate in town. She understands the importance of honoring their service by ensuring veterans are treated with the dignity and respect they have earned.
That same sense of responsibility carries into everything she does. Renee brings energy, focus, and discipline to the Town Clerk’s office every day. She is a quintessential public servant who I know deep in my heart is focused entirely on making Newtown a better place. She is organized, responsive, and she takes pride in getting things right in her office.
I also have tremendous respect for the dedication she showed during her campaign. From knocking on doors across Newtown to holding signs at the transfer station and greeting residents, she poured her heart and soul into earning the trust of this community.
I am writing this not only because of the respect I have for Renee, but because I hope it brings a smile to her face during her recovery.
Newtown needs you, Renee. We wish you a speedy recovery! And my offer still stands to bring you some chicken soup and cookies!
