To The Editor:

This is a matter of trust: A word that has been smashed to bits of late when one considers how distorted the word “truth” has become. Politicians just lie and twist facts into pretzels with the idea that we, the voter simply accept what they say.

Not so with Brandon Moore… he is a man of great character and has earned my trust.

I ask — what drives anyone to seek public office? It is a foregone conclusion we need new, young, energetic people who can offer fresh thinking.

But why Brandon Moore?

Consider where this trust was earned: Moore is a decorated former Army attack helicopter pilot who saw action defending US interests in Afghanistan. Simply put, the military would not assign you to lead dozens of fellow soldiers into combat if there was not the highest trust in your abilities. This denotes two critical points the Army recognized: Confidence and Leadership.

To this Newtown resident it also says this is a man of integrity and with his background, knows how to make tough decisions. Others have noted this as well such as First Selectman Bruce Walczak or our Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz, both very supportive.

We are facing such a decision in May, when we will be able to exercise our civic duty and vote for a candidate that best represents the collective interests of all Newtowners and the great state of Connecticut.

This candidate is the “real deal.” Moore truly wishes to dedicate his efforts to best serve the constituents within the 106th with an open mind and truthfulness.

He will earn your trust.

My choice when the May Democratic caucus date is announced, is Brandon Moore.

Daniel Walsh
