Being Present: A Study Of

Christian Character In Community

Trinity Episcopal Church will host a workshop series, “Attentiveness: Being Present — A Study of Christian Character in Community,” that is open to everyone in the community.

Katherine Walton will facilitate the series, which will meet on Mondays, March 30, April 20 and 27, and May 4, 11 and 18. Sessions will run from 7 to 8:15 pm.

Are you too busy for God? asks Ms Walton. “It may sound sacrilegious, but isn’t that a sentiment many of us might share?”

Ms Walton’s study will help attendees examine their busy lives and learn how to be present with themselves, with each other, and with God.

“Be still, stop, look, and listen for a while and cultivate eyes that see [Mark 8:18] and ears that hear [Mark 4:9] through study and reflection, video, prayer exercises, and small group discussion. Let us gather together to muse and meditate, pray and play, and grow in grace,” says Ms Walton, who is a Trinity parishioner. She served as the facilitator of a long-term bible study and prayer group in her former community in Florida.

Reservations are requested, and attendees will need to order and arrange for shipping of a $10 study guide. Contact Trinity Church, 30 Main Street, at Trinity@TrinityNewtownCT.org or 426-9070 for details.
