Mrs Clark
Mrs Clark
By Amanda Nostrand
Mrs Clark is Head Oâ Meadow schoolâs lovely art teacher. Her students just finished working on a still life project that was on sports. Mrs Clark says, âAll the work is fantastic!â
The still life teaches students about values, lines, shapes, and proportions. Her recent goal is by the end of May to have at least one art piece from each student hanging in the school.
Mrs Clark wanted to become an art teacher because she wanted to share with children how art can open their eyes to the world around them and learn how to express their ideas. She would consider a good art piece a piece that makes her think and is emotionally moving like Vincent Van Goghâs âStarry Night.â
If you want to become an artist Mrs Clark says, âStudy a lot of artists and look at as much art as possible, and practice. Experiment and take risks!â
Mrs Clark has always been interested in art. âArt is related to everything I studied in life and in school,â said Mrs Clark.
She has been drawing seriously since fifth grade and started selling and displaying her work in college. Mrs Clark said, âI enjoy being an artist because it takes dedication and hard work.â
Art appeals to her because it makes her realize the beauty of being human. From childhood Mrs Clark knew she was going to be an artist. The thing she didnât know is she would be a teacher.
She wanted to work in New York City. She ended up working somewhere better, in Newtown! The children at Head Oâ Meadow think of her as a caring artistic friend!
