Bela Urban

Remembered For His Great Sense Of Humor

Bela (Bill) Urban, 86, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Elvira Ruskay Urban, died March 21 at St Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport. Mr Urban was born in New York City to Stephen and Mary Fekete Urban and moved to the Black Rock section of Bridgeport at a young age.

He survived by his sisters, Grace Heagney of Newtown and Irene Roach of Fairfield, both formerly of Black Rock; sisters-in-law, Joan Urban of Milford and Viola Simone of Massachusetts. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. A brother, Ernest, predeceased Mr Urban.

He was a graduate of Bassick High School and served his country in the Army during World War II. He was employed for many years by the Harvey Hubbell, Inc of Bridgeport. Mr Urban was known for his dry wit, great sense of humor, and his love of fishing. He enjoyed many hours playing pool with his friends at the Fairfield Senior Center.

Private Services and entombment will be at the convenience of the family.

The Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Avenue, Bridgeport, is assisting the family with arrangements.
