Southbound motorist Tara Belmont, 16, of 161 Sugar Street, who was driving a 2005 Subaru Legacy sedan behind the Mercedes, then swerved in trying to avoid an accident, but the two vehicles collided, police said.

There were no injuries. Belmont received a written warning for following too closely.

Moving Violation

Police report that at about 5:11 pm on March 23, they spotted motorist Kim Capozziello, 42, of 48 Hilldale Drive driving on Queen Street and knew that Capozziello had a suspended driver’s license.

Police said they stopped Capozziello on Church Hill Road to investigate, after which they charged him with driving with a suspended license.

Police released him on a written promise to appear April 10 in Danbury Superior Court.

Larceny/Paraphernalia

On the night of March 23, police charged Max Rojo, 19, of 27 Mountain Manor Road with sixth degree larceny and with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said that Rojo had attempted to steal pizza at the Big Y supermarket at Newtown Shopping Village on Queen Street. An investigation turned up some drug paraphernalia on Rojo, police said.

After posting $50 bail, police released Rojo for an April 4 court appearance.

Wrecker Into Rails

Police report that David Markey, 31, of Bridgeport, who was driving a 2006 Chevrolet auto wrecker westward near 87 Mt Pleasant Road at about 3:40 pm March 26, encountered a deer that had entered the road.

Markey avoided the deer by braking and turning to the right, but the toolbox positioned on the right side of the wrecker hit some metal-beam guardrailing, police said.

Markey was not injured. Police verbally warned him for making a restricted turn.
