To Perform Local Concert
SOUTHBURY â On Saturday, March 31, at 6 pm, the Yale Gospel Choir will perform in concert South Britain Congregational Church.
Founded in 1973, the choir is run entirely by Yale undergraduates. The group was were established as an adjunct to the Black Church at Yale, maintaining a biweekly commitment to sing during the churchâs Sunday morning worship service. The choirâs purpose is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through the ministry of song.
In addition to singing at the church services, they give concerts in the greater New Haven area as well as an annual spring tour through other parts of the US. They have recently been to Capetown, South Africa.
The Yale Gospel Choir is open to all Yale students and members of the New Haven community.
The church is located one mile north of I-84 Exit 14 on Route 172, in the South Britain historic district. Parking is available across the street from the church.
A suggested donation of $5 per person is asked.
