Starting Monday, April 6, Belfor Property Restoration will begin the Fairfield Hills building hardening project. The work will focus on weatherproofing and securing Shelton and Kent Houses from trespassers and vandals.

Shelton House, the large building seen from the intersection of Trades Lane and Keating Farms Avenue when using the main entrance to Fairfield Hills, will be the first building addressed.

Work is expected to take approximately 8–10 weeks, depending on weather.

Readers are advised that both the area east of Shelton House along First Street, and the circle in on the western side of the building, along Keating Farms Avenue, will be closed for the duration of the project. Those areas will serve as construction and staging zones.

Parking is prohibited in both locations for the duration of the project.

Work will begin April 6 to weatherproof and secure two buildings within the Fairfield Hills campus. Temporary parking restrictions around the locations will be in effect while work is underway. —Newtown Economic & Community Development graphic
