Concerned About Route 34 Tower

To The Editor:

Sandy Hook residents are concerned about the possible erection of a 199-foot communications tower at the Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire Department at 249 Berkshire Road (Route 34).

In November 1999, the Planning and Zoning Commission amended the zoning regulations to specifically deal with these types of communication towers. The proposed tower requires substantial variances to these regulations be granted.

On Thursday, April 13, at 8 pm, there will be a special meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals at Canaan House, 4 Fairfield Circle South in Fairfield Hills, to determine if variances will be granted to approve this tower.

Sandy Hook residents need your support in attending this special hearing to stop these variances from being granted.

Concerned Route 34 Residents,

John and Pam Arsenault, Bob and Renate Burch,

Scott and Toni Ferguson, Dave and Ginger Perkins,

Larry and Joan Romano, Bob and Elaine Vingo
