More On Realism
To the Editor:
In response to the letter in your paper on March 31 (Racism in America), one can only wonder if the writer is inexperienced, ignorant, or being indoctrinated in the left wing, socialist ideology that infects the public schools.
Contrary to the writerâs diatribe, the Diallo shooting was a tragedy brought on by sets of circumstances that led those officers to believe the person had a gun and was about to fire on them. This incident was investigated for over a year. The police officers were indicted on politically motivated, trumped-up charges and then found not guilty at trial. The jury forewoman, herself African-American, stated that race was not an issue in the trial. The facts showed the officers did not commit a crime. For the writer to conclude this was a âperfect exampleâ of racism is idiotic.
As far as the other comments about police misconduct, these comments show the usual liberal ignorance. Yes, there are officers who behave in an inappropriate manner. Contrary to what the writer would like us to believe there are not âmanyâ of them and the incidents are not âmany.â These incidents are a tiny, minute amount compared to the thousands of times a day police officers interact with people. When these incidents do occur they are sensationalized and exploited by police bigots and their apologists in the media. These bigots have an anti-police agenda and will tell any lie to advance that agenda. The writer should not be making comments about the police because obviously she has no idea what she is talking about.
As far as the rest of the letter, I will just mention the following names. Khalid Muhammed, Louis Farrahkan, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson. These are just a few of the more famous African-American racists whose racist and anti-Semitic statements you conveniently left out of your letter about race in America. Maybe before you write another letter you will try and remember to get all the facts and remember that racism is a two-way street and any discussion about it must keep that fact in mind.
