A Successful Community Effort
A Successful Community Effort
To the Editor:
I would like to thank everyone in the community that took the time to come to the screening of Race To Nowhere on Thursday, March 31. It was a powerful documentary that encouraged parents, students, teachers, and administrators to work together for the benefit of our children.
I would also like to thank everyone who, because of their interest in our childrenâs education and well-being, helped to make the screening possible. Thank you to all of the members of the Newtown Special Education Advisory Board, the AV team, the professionals who were on the panel, Jeff Tolson for hosting the evening, the honors students who volunteered their time, and Linda Jones for running her FUN meeting in conjunction with the screening so that free babysitting would be provided for those who needed it.
All in all the night was a large success and the process is already underway to continue the conversation. If you are interested in more information about what you can do to help initiate a change you can go to www.RaceToNowhere.com and click on Take Action.
