Self-Watering Container Gardens
Self-Watering Container Gardens
On Wednesday, April 14, at Newtown Senior Center, The Town & Country Garden Club of Newtown is sponsoring a program entitled âSelf-Watering Container Gardens,â to be presented by Lorraine Ballato.
Ms Ballato became interested in gardening as a second career as a freelance garden writer and lecturer. She has written a regular gardening column for over five years for Housatonic Publications.
Her articles have also appeared in Edible Nutmeg, People, Places, and Plants magazine, and Connecticut Gardener. She is an Advanced Master Gardener and teaches classes and gives speeches on a variety of garden related topics.
Her current book, is Successful Self-Watering Containers, contains information on how to convert a favorite container into one that is self-watering.
For her upcoming program, Ms Ballato will focus on the magic of self-watering containers: what they are, how they work, and how easy it is to convert containers into self-watering ones.
The program starts at 7:30 pm and all are welcome. The senior center at 14 Riverside Road in Sandy Hook.
