Trust The Voters

(The following letter to the Legislative Council has been received for publication.)

Dear Legislative Council members:

You are probably receiving numerous emails about the budget. I would like to add one thought you may not have heard yet.

The voters of Newtown elected you to the Legislative Council. Do you not trust those same voters to make a decision on the budget? Please give us the opportunity to vote on a Board of Education budget that has been put together by our education professionals, not one that has been cut by the Board of Finance. Please stop this annual process of wringing water from a stone.
