In a traffic enforcement project held on April 2, town police issued 34 violations to motorists traveling on six different local roads.
The ongoing program is designed to enforce motorist violations against speeding, aggressive driving, and distracted driving.
From 6 to 10 am, one sergeant and three patrol officers monitored traffic flow at Glen Road, Castle Hill Road, and Key Rock Road.
At Glen Road, police issued two infractions and one written warning for traveling too fast, as well as three infractions for failure to obey a stop sign. At Castle Hill Road, three drivers received infractions for traveling too fast, as did three motorists on Key Rock Road.
Between 2 and 6 pm, police focused their efforts on Main Street, Hattertown Road, and Route 302.
On Main Street, violations included eight infractions for traveling too fast, one infraction for passing a standing school bus, and one infraction for using a handheld mobile telephone while driving.
Police issued two infractions and one written warning for traveling too fast on Hattertown Road.
On Route 302, motorists received a variety of violations, including one misdemeanor summons for speeding, one speeding infraction, one infraction for traveling too fast, and three written warnings for traveling too fast. Also, police issued two handheld mobile telephone usage violations, as well as one infraction for a defective windshield.
