NYA Sports & Fitness Spring Break Activities
NYA Sports & Fitness Center has planned a full week of activities to offer local children a variety of choices to keep them busy during the week of spring break, April 14–19.
Things kickoff Monday, April 14, with Spring Break Open Play. Children from kindergarten through eighth grade are invited to join in supervised play from 10 am to 1 pm. There is a $10 fee for all, including members. Basketball open play for members begins at 2 pm.
On Tuesday, the Spring Break Wiffle Ball Tournament will be held from 9 am to 1 pm. There are two age brackets, 10 to 14 and 15 to 18. Each team will consist of five players with a registration fee of $75 per team. The tournament will consist of round robin team play with playoffs and each team is guaranteed four games.
On Wednesday, a lacrosse clinic will be held from 9 am to noon. Coaches will be on hand to instruct participants in techniques for shooting, passing, and movement. Registration fee is $40.
Triple Play and NYA are collaborating on the first Spring Break Baseball Clinic to be held Thursday and Friday. The clinic is designed to address the fundamentals of the game of baseball including proper stretching and conditioning, arm care, velocity, infield/outfield drills, and hitting with video analysis.
Players age 6 through 13 are eligible to register for the clinic, from 9 am to noon both days.
Registration fee is $80 (a limited number of one-day slots are available for $50).
