Change Of Plans For Yale Alley Cats

One of the nation’s most renowned a cappella groups, The Yale Alley Cats will return to Newtown for a performance at Trinity Episcopal Church on Saturday, April 28. The performance will begin at 7 pm.

The group had originally planned to be in town the previous weekend, but has rescheduled its performance for the final Saturday in April.

The 17-person all-male a cappella ensemble has been spreading music around the world since 1943. They find their roots in jazz, but the repertoire has grown to include Motown, pop, classical, and many more genres. Their diverse song list and acknowledged musical excellence allow performances at a host of different venues, from jazz clubs to embassies, from the set of NBC’s The West Wing to the main stage at the Dresden Music Festival, from the beaches of Hawaii and in Parisian squares and Spanish boulevards to the hallowed halls of their university.

Trinity Choristers will be offering a prelude to the concert.

The event is sponsored by Music @ Trinity. Admission is free, but a freewill offering will be collected.

Trinity Episcopal Church, at 36 Main Street, can be reached for additional information at 203-426-9070.
