Marie DeSimone Riccio

Cherished Her Family

Marie DeSimone Riccio of Trumbull, beloved wife of Joseph J. Riccio, died April 4, at St Vincent Medical Center. Born in Mount Kisco, N.Y., on Groundhog Day, February 2, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Dena DeLucia DeSimone.

In addition to her husband of 57 years, four beloved children, including James Riccio, and his wife Christine, of Newtown; two cherished grandchildren; three siblings; and several treasured nieces and nephews survive Mrs Riccio.

A “Proud Mommy,” she was a Trumbull resident for 62 years. She made perfect pizza and prosciutto pie and always had cookies for the kids in the neighborhood. Her family was always at the center of her life. She eagerly awaited the arrival of spring each year in order to spend time tending her gardens.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of St Vincent Medical Center, 9th Floor South, and the Cancer Center for the exceptional skill and compassionate care they extended to Mrs Riccio.

A Mass of Christian Burial took place April 10. Interment was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.

Memorial contributions may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105 or www.stjude.org.
