Cherished Mother And Grandmother

Anne V. Scotto, 95 of Danbury, died peacefully, April 13, at Bethel Health Care Center. She was born June 19, 1915, in New York City, to Lucia (Masillo) and Joseph Vitello.

Mrs Scotto worked at a bridal salon before joining Genung’s Department Store in New York, as a sales associate. She remained there until her retirement in 1989 from the Steinbach Department Store.

 Mrs Scotto loved to cook and will always be remembered by family and friends for her love of Italian cooking, especially during the holiday times when everyone would gather together.

She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Smith, and her husband Paul, of Newtown and Veronica Harty, and her husband Patrick; two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ulisse Frank Scotto, owner of Frank’s Barber Shop in Putnam Lake, N.Y., and five siblings.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Saturday, April 16, at St Peter Church, Danbury. Burial will be in St Peter Cemetery, Danbury. The family will receive friends in the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, Friday, April 15, from 5 to 8 pm.
