Assault Charge

State police said that Garner Correctional Institution inmate Kenneth Morgan, 42, punched his cellmate in the face multiple times on the afternoon of April 7 before correctional officers could stop the assault.

The 52-year-old male victim of the assault received minor injuries and was treated at the prison infirmary, state police said.

State police charged Morgan with third-degree assault. He was arraigned on the charge April 8 in Danbury Superior Court.

Morgan is serving an eight-year sentence at Garner for a first-degree assault conviction.
