Newtown High School's boys' golf team split its first two matches of the spring, shooting a 189 in a loss at Weston (164) at the par 36 Aspetuck Valley Country Club on April 7, and shooting a 182 in a win over visiting Notre Dame-Fairfield at the
Newtown High Schoolâs boysâ golf team split its first two matches of the spring, shooting a 189 in a loss at Weston (164) at the par 36 Aspetuck Valley Country Club on April 7, and shooting a 182 in a win over visiting Notre Dame-Fairfield at the par 35 Rock Ridge Country Club on April 11.
Against Weston, Newtown was led by Abbey Doski and Chris Erikson, each of whom shot a 45. Brian Leblanc 48, and Rob Marona, 51, were Newtownâs next top scorers.
In the win over Notre Dame, Doski shot a 43, Erikson a 45, Vivek Tedla a 46, and Brian LeBlanc a 48.
Newtown was scheduled to face Bethel at Rock Ridge on Tuesday but the match was postponed by rain. The Nighthawks were slated to visit Stratford on Wednesday but the match was postponed by rain. The team will return to the familiar fairways and greens at Newtown Country Club when Bunnell of Stratford visits on April 18.
