Perinatal Grief Support, Diabetes Groups Meeting
BRIDGEPORT â St Vincentâs âWe Careâ Perinatal Grief Support Group will meet on Wednesday, April 20, from 7 to 8:15 pm in St Vincentâs Medical Centerâs Ambulatory Infusion Center on the main level.
The group is for those grieving the loss of a baby through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillborn, or newborn death.
The group is facilitated by a maternity nurse and a chaplain who are certified grief counselors. It meets the third Wednesday of each month. Speakers experienced in grief counseling are scheduled periodically.

In other health news, St Vincentâs Medical Centerâs Diabetes Support Group invites the public to learn important information regarding coping with diabetes and improving lifestyle, and will have the opportunity to share tips with other people with diabetes to overcome challenges and frustration.Â
The group, which is free, is facilitated by a St Vincentâs nurse and Animas representative both specializing in diabetes.
Topics to be addressed monthly include diet, meal planning and carb counting, monitoring blood glucose levels, administration of insulin through injection or pump, flexibility in daily regimens and exercise.
 The Support Group meetings will be held on Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 pm in St Vincentâs Level 3 South Conference Room. Upcoming date is: April 27. St Vincentâs and Animas also co-sponsor regular seminars for people with diabetes at the Medical Center.
