St Rose Track Athletes Win Gold Medals
The St Rose track and field team won its season-opening meet held this past Sunday at Immaculate High School in Danbury. St Rose amassed 731 points, beating out St Joseph of Brookfield (698), St Joseph of Danbury (398), and Sacred Heart/ St Peter (139).
Gold medal winners for grades seven and eight included Molly Begg (1600 meters/ 6:12 and 800/ 2:56), Bridget Duero (400/ 1:13 and softball throw/ 100 feet), and Timmy Moore (shot put/ 13-14). Winners in grades five and six included Audrey Sedensky (1600/ 7:13, 100/ 15:42 and 400/ 1:16), Anna Brubaker (200/ 35.18 and long jump/ 9-1), and Madeline Meier (softball throw/ 78). Winners in grades three and four included Joe Rios (400/ 1:21, softball throw/ 106 and 50/9.42), and Adelaide Meier (400/ 1:31 and 800/ 3:43). Winners of the kindergartners, first-graders and second-graders included Zack Reilly (400/ 1:36 and broad jump/ 4-11), and Rebecca Racz (50/ 9.27).
Other medal winners included Connor McNerney, Victoria Kirkman, Hans Reelick, Grace Keane, Brendan Reeds, Isabella Jimenez, Kayla Ondy, Rosie Simms, Marina Renzi, Hunter Kirkman, Torin Kearney, Nadine Sun, Alex Gerbo, Haley McNulty, Stephen Sedensky, Rebecca McHugh, Kathryn Kerins, Ryan McNerney, Annika Sun, and Walter Brady.
