At ‘Rx For Fashion’ Fundraiser

DANBURY — Nine Newtowners will join fellow Danbury Hospital physicians and hospital-affiliated friends and associates in discovering, diagnosing, and prescribing a remedy for any “fashion emergency” when they hit the runway wearing the season’s latest fashions this spring.

The Danbury Hospital Development Fund Associate Board of Directors and organizers of “Rx for Fashion — No Expiration” cordially invite the community to join them on April 23 at 6:30 pm at the Portuguese Cultural Center, 65 Sand Pit Road.

“Rx for Fashion — No Expiration” is a fundraising event sponsored by the Fiore Family and featuring 34 physicians and guest “supermodels” who will strut their stuff down the runway wearing the latest fashions from Lord & Taylor and other fashion boutiques. Hair and makeup will be provided by Adam Broderick Salon & Spa.

“This year will mark the third Rx for Fashion event, and the members of the Associate Board have outdone themselves,” said Grace Linhard, vice president of the Development Fund. “The physician participation makes this event unique, and this year we have surgeons, primary care physicians, pediatricians, oncologists, and more.”

The event also features dinner catered by Bernard’s and an online auction, which opened on April 1.

Participants can bid from home, and take a chance on auction items such as a three-bedroom villa located on the Baja Peninsula overlooking the majestic Sea of Cortes at Esperanza Resort in Cabo San Lucas; drive like movie star in a Lamborghini or Ferrari for a three-day weekend of motoring; jet away to Belize and spend a week in a two-bedroom and two-bath condo overlooking the ocean; enjoy a Saturday afternoon with your favorite baseball team Yankees v Boston Red Sox at Fenway with weekend accommodations in Boston.
