Pair Arrested
Police report they arrested two brothers on criminal charges on the afternoon of April 8 following an incident that occurred at the brothersâ home at 11 Wildcat Road.
Police said that they went to that address to interview John Lipusz, 41, and Peter Lipusz, 34, in connection with an ongoing investigation that they are conducting.
However, when police approached the brothers, they attempted to flee the scene in a vehicle, police said. The vehicle then skidded off the driveway there and Peter Lipusz ran off into a wooded area, police said. John Lipusz did not flee, police added.
Police said they used their German shepherd to briefly track Peter Lipusz and then found him.
John Lipusz, who was driving the vehicle, was charged with interfering with police and with second-degree reckless endangerment. Police held him on $5,000 bail for an arraignment April 9 in Danbury Superior Court. He was being held on $7,500 bail on April 13 at the Bridgeport Correctional Center and is scheduled to appear in court again on April 23.
Peter Lipusz was charged with interfering with police. He was released on $2,500 bail for an April 22 court appearance.
Five Addresses
Police report five cases of mailbox mischief on Marlin Road, in the area generally west of Marlin Roadâs intersection with Hoseye Coach Road. The incidents occurred at Nos. 62, 64, 68, 70, and 80 Marlin Road.
Sometime between 8:30 pm on April 1, and 10 am on April 2, someone vandalized four curbside mailboxes and stole a fifth mailbox, according to police reports.
Police Patrol Officer John McCluskey in investigating the third-degree criminal mischief and the sixth-degree larceny and asks anyone with information on the crimes to contact him at the police station at 203-426-5841.
SUV Vs Sedan
About 10:12 am on April 1, motorist Dana Fillipino, 21, of Monroe, who was driving a 1999 Volkswagen Jetta sedan eastward on Berkshire Road, just west of its intersection with Zoar Road, slowed for a noncontact vehicle that was making a turn into a driveway, after which the Volkswagen was struck from behind by eastbound motorist Nicholas Barnes, 24, of Naugatuck, who was driving a 1999 Dodge Durango SUV, according to police.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Barnes a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Rear-Ender
 Police report that at about 9 am on April 8, motorist Israel Unrad, 58, of Monroe, who was driving a 2004 Mercury Mountaineer SUV northward on Toddy Hill Road, stopped for a school bus near Quarry Ridge Road, after which the Mercury was struck from behind by northbound motorist Janine Williams, 26, of 126 Toddy Hill Road, who was driving a 2002 Volkswagen Passat station wagon.
There were no injuries. Sandy Hook firefighters responded to the accident. Police said they issued Williams an infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Fairfield Hills
About 5:45 pm on April 10, police responded to the Fairfield Hills core campus on a report of a problem there.
A group of people were attempting to enter buildings at the former state psychiatric hospital that is now owned by the town, according to police.
Police said they located a group of people near the cluster of duplex homes, which are positioned around Washington Square there.
Ian Knox, 28, of Derby was arrested on charges of third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminal trespassing in connection with his allegedly having made a forcible entry into a building at 59 Washington Square, police said. The forcible entry damaged the building, according to police.
Knox was released on a written promise to appear April 22 in Danbury Superior Court.
Taunton Hill
Motorist Joseph Cello, 49, of 3 Wedgewood Court was driving a 2003 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck southward on Taunton Hill Road about 7:30 pm April 10, when the truck collided with a deer that had run out onto the street, according to police. Cello was not injured. Police said they verbally warned Cello for traveling unreasonably fast.
Narrow Street
About 8:45 am on April 8, tractor-trailer truck driver Jeremy White, 32, of Skiatook, Okla., who was driving southward on the narrow Oakview Road, moved to the right side of the street to avoid colliding with an oncoming vehicle, police report.
The cargo positioned on the truckâs trailer, however, struck a branch that was hanging over the road, police said. White was not injured. No enforcement was taken.
Police said the town road crew went to the scene to inspect the condition of the branch.
Honda Vs Chevrolet
Police report a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Dodgingtown Road, Taunton Hill Road, and Jacklin Road about 10 am on April 10.
Motorist Nery Cameros, 40, of Danbury, who was driving a 1997 Chevrolet K-2500 pickup truck northward on Dodgingtown Road, slowed for a red traffic signal and was then struck from behind by northbound motorist Daniel Martins, 20, of Bethel, who was driving a 1991 Honda Accord sedan, police said.
There were no injuries. Dodgingtown firefighters responded to the accident. Police issued Martins a written warning for following too closely.
DUI Case
State police report they stopped motorist John Marinko, 22, of Milford on westbound Interstate 84, west of Exit 10, about 8:30 am April 7 to investigate.
State police said they charged Marinko with driving under the influence, improper passing, and failure to drive in the proper lane.
Marinko was released on bail for an April 26 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Toyota Hits Rails
About 3:30 pm April 11, motorist Demetra Karras, 71, of Berwyn, Penn., who was driving a 2005 Toyota Camry westward on Interstate 84, east of Exit 11, went off of the left travel lane and struck some metal-beam guardrailing, state police said.
Neither Karras nor two passengers were injured, according to state police. No enforcement information was available.
Asleep At Wheel
About 12:30 am April 11, motorist Richard Natoli, 56, of Southbury was driving a 1995 Honda Accord eastward on Interstate 84, near Exit 10, when he fell asleep at the wheel and then struck some guardcabling on the highway median, state police said.
Natoli was not injured. State police issued him an infraction for failure to drive in the established lane.
Honda Crash
Motorist Michael Rotolo, 82, of 137 Louis Hill Road, who was driving a 2008 Honda Pilot SUV on westbound Interstate 84âs Exit 10 on-ramp at about 1 pm April 10, struck some guardcabling alongside the ramp, state police said.
Rotolo was not injured. Rotolo received a written warning for failure to drive in the established lane.
Burglary Warrant
After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Jesse Lewis, 18, of 158 Walnut Tree Hill Road went to the police station on the morning of April 13, and was charged with third-degree burglary and second-degree larceny, police said.
The charges stem from a June 17, 2008, residential burglary on Walker Hill Road in which miscellaneous items were stolen, police said. Some of the stolen goods were recovered, police said.
Police held Walker on bail for arraignment on the charges on April 13 in Danbury Superior Court.

Harassment
On the morning of April 12 in Danbury Superior Court, police said they charged Sandra Ballard, 49, of Danbury with second-degree harassment stemming from an incident that occurred last December 21. Police said Ballard was arraigned in court on the charge on April 12.
Ballard currently is serving a sentence at York Correctional Institution in Niantic on a conviction for violation of probation.
Eyeglasses
Police are holding for safekeeping a pair of eyeglasses with black frames that were found on the afternoon of April 7 in the parking area near the Bank of America at Newtown Shopping Village at 6 Queen Street. The owner should contact police at 203-426-5841 to claim the eyeglasses.
Intersection Accident
Police report a two-vehicle accident at the four-way intersection of Hattertown Road, Key Rock Road, and Poverty Hollow Road about 3:30 pm April 9.
The accident involved motorist Janice Lavery, 63, of Roosevelt Drive, who was driving a 2006 Subaru station wagon, and motorist Michael DiNardo, 24, of Easton, who was driving a 1998 Jeep, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Lavery a written warning on a stop sign violation.
Vandalism
Sometime on the night of April 2 or the morning of April 3, someone spray-painted and physically damaged the exterior of a house on Hundred Acres Road, near that streetâs intersection with Hattertown Road, police said. The house has been the target of such vandalism incidents in the past. Police ask anyone with information on the crime to contact Officer Scott Smith at the police station at 203-426-5841.
Two MV Charges
Police report that after stopping motorist Alice Blake, 37, of Bridgeport on Botsford Hill Road about 7:14 am on April 13, they investigated and charged Blake with traveling unreasonably fast and with driving with a suspended vehicle registration.
Police released Blake on a written promise to appear on April 23 in Danbury Superior Court.
