Porcoâs Karate Students Shine
Porcoâs Karate Academy students recently performed for their quad-yearly test at the Sandy Hook-based karate facility.
The students, who have been training for two to three years, demonstrated their abilities to instructors.
The test cycle involves both mental and physical demonstration through specific hand and feet technique combinations, forms, weapons forms, hand/feet/grabbing defense techniques, free fighting, rolls and break falls, and an oral test on the history of the martial art Tang Soo Do.
Sections of the test were run by black belts Michael Porco. Jr, Chris Perry, Nancy Gilbert, Silvia Porco, Amelia Shwartz, and Lauren DâAmico.
Studentsâ skills were ultimately examined by Master Mike Porco Sr.
Altogether, the test essentially was a success as students celebrated their new belts (ranks) after a challenging workout.
