Supporting Head O' Meadow
Supporting
Head Oâ Meadow
To the Editor:
On Saturday night, the Head Oâ Meadow Parent Teacher Association held its biggest fundraiser of the year and what an overwhelming success it was! Ninety-nine families attended (over 390 participants) all coming together to support the children of Head Oâ Meadow School.
When talks began about this fundraiser, we kept two thoughts in mind: 1) making money to continue the PTAâs outstanding programming at HOM, and 2) to hold an event that was inclusive to all HOM families. In these economically challenging times, it was heartwarming to see our school come together to support an important cause: our children. Together, we are a powerful voice for our children and we thank you for supporting this event in big and small ways. We feel we created an evening that was affordable and a fun night out for families; we hope our families enjoyed themselves and maybe even went home with something special.
This event would not be possible without the dedication of PTA parent volunteers. Patty Cheh and Eileen Meeker outdid themselves in their first year chairing this event, Caren Wellman also did an outstanding job lining up the many volunteers and was an integral part in making this incredible evening a success.
Donna Ball did a fabulous job with the class projects (mosaic trays this year) and basket arrangements and our HOM family canât thank her enough for her efforts. A special thank you also goes to HOM dad Jeff Tolson, who yet again supported our school and kept those boys and girls happy on the NYA turf for hours; and to Ken Good who kept the basketball games running smoothly!
We would also like to thank the Newtown Youth Academy and Coach Rob Frangione, who made it all seem so easy from the first meeting. Thank you to Newtown Deli and to Carminuccioâs for the delicious dinner and a very special thank you to all the Newtown High School kids who volunteered their time; we could not have done this without you.
Finally, thank you to our Head Oâ Meadow family, for coming and for supporting our school!
Gratefully,
Tracy Holman
