‘Tranquility’

At City Hall

DANBURY —Housatonic Valley Cultural Alliance is sponsoring an exhibition of oil paintings by the Newtown artist Joanne Conant paintings in The Gallery at Danbury City Hall. The public is invited to join Ms Conant for an opening reception on Thursday, April 22, from 5:30 to 7 pm. The collection, called “Tranquility,” will then remain on view until June 3.

Ms Conant’s work appears in numerous publications, and has received many national and international awards. She is the enameling studio manager at Brookfield Craft Center and studies oil painting with master painter Ira Barkoff through Washington Art Association. She has been involved in the arts for over thirty years as an enamellist and metalsmith.

The collection in Danbury, says the artist, was inspired by quiet, peaceful moments shared with nature.

The gallery is just outside the mayor’s office at Danbury City Hall, 155 Deer Hill Avenue. City Hill is open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am to 6 pm.
