COOKING FEAST AT NATHAN HALE MAY 6

AVV 4-11 #695777

COVENTRY, CONN. — The Antiquarian & Landmarks Society will present “The Hungry Time” Hearth Cooking Feast at its historic house museum, the Nathan Hale Homestead at 2299 South Street, on Sunday, May 6, from 2 to 6 pm.

The early spring was known as “the hungry time” in Colonial America as food was sparse from the previous year’s harvest. Feasters will cook a hearty meal (with the assistance of A&L staff) using a touch of colonial ingenuity and will receive copies of the recipes. Reservations are required at 860-742-6917. The program fee is $40 for A&L members and $50 for nonmembers.
