Two Violent Incidents Reported
 At State PrisonÂ
State police report two violent incidents at Garner Correctional Institution, the stateâs high-security prison at 50 Nunnawauk Road.
State police were called to the prison at 1:45 pm on April 8 to investigate an incident in which inmate Vincent Turnbull, 37, allegedly spit into the face of a female correction officer.
State police arrested Turnbull on charges of assault on a peace officer and breach of peace.
Turnbull was scheduled to be arraigned on the charges on April 9 in Danbury Superior Court.
Turnbull is serving a four-year sentence in Garner on a second-degree burglary conviction, according to the state Department of Correction.
Also, at noon on April 8, state police were called to the prison to investigate an incident in which an inmate allegedly struck a male correction officer in the face, injuring the correction officerâs left eye.
State police did not provide the full identity of the inmate for whom they are seeking an arrest warrant in the case.
