MIDDLETOWN â The Connecticut State Police is accepting applications for State Trooper Trainees through 1 pm on May 8.
Candidates for trooper trainees must be at least 21 years old and a US Citizen by November 8, 2007. Applicants must be in general good health and possess the strength, agility, and stamina for the job.
All those applying for the position must have a high school diploma or GED by the completion of training and be free from any felony and Class A or B misdemeanor convictions.
Depending on how far a candidate advances through the hiring process, that candidate may undergo written testing, a physical fitness assessment, a background investigation, and a polygraph test. Psychological and medical evaluations may also be conducted.
As trooper trainees, applicants enter the Connecticut State Police Academy for classroom instructions, practical exercises, and physical conditioning.
