Voice Acting Class Offered

Introduction to Voice Acting Class will be offered through Newtown Adult & Continuing Education on Thursday, April 26, beginning at 6:30 pm. Getting Paid to Talk is an adult education class taught by the voice acting professionals from Creative Voice Development Group, which provides voice training to students all over the country.

During this 2½-hour noncredit class, student will learn what it takes to become a professional voice actor, from the basics of getting started, all the way through working in the studio, recording a demo, and landing jobs. Class attendees will have an opportunity to record a mock commercial under the direction of the producer. Getting Paid to Talk is a first step for anyone curious about the professional voice acting field.

Scheduled to present the class on at Newtown High School is CVDG instructor Heather Kay, producer/voice development for Creative Voice Development Group. Ms Kay is a classically trained singer and vocal expert. She has professional experience in performance, both as an actress and voice artist. Her experience includes film, theater, opera, solo vocal performance, and studio voice work.
